Support for Government at Record Low

Support for the Progressive Party-Independence Party coalition government is at a record low at 33 percent, according to the latest MMR poll published yesterday. Support for the government in the last poll, conducted on October 21, measured 34.3 percent.

Support for Prime Minister Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson’s Progressive Party measures 12.3 percent, up from 10.1 percent in the last poll, while support for Progressive Party's coalition partner, the Independence Party, measured 23.6 percent, down from 26.1 percent in the last poll.

Support for Bright Future measures 18.6 percent, down from 20 percent, while support for the Social Democrats is 16.1 percent, up from 15.1 percent in the last poll.

Support for the Pirate Party is currently 11.3 percent, down from 12.2 percent, and support for the Left-Greens is 10.7 percent, up from 10 percent. Support for other parties measured less than 2 percent.
