Producer Snorri Þór Tryggvason took 120,000 photos of the northern lights on 130 different nights. He then used the time-lapse photos to make a 27-minute movie on the northern lights.
The photos were taken in 50 different places in Iceland.
Segments of his movie Iceland Aurora was shown on RÚV's news magazine Kastljós after an interview with Snorri this evening.
The video, found here, shows some of greatest footage of the northern lights ever shown. Don’t mind the interview in Icelandic, the pictures are worth looking at. The northern lights part begins at 10.58 minutes into the video.
UPDATE: The full film will be available on dvd and via digital download here later this month.
