Icelanders love to have ice cream, all year. Visir.is asked 24 ice cream experts where the best ice cream can be found in the land of ice. The winner, by a big margin, is Brynjuís in Akureyri, North Iceland.
As one expert put it: “The ice cream parlor Brynja in Akureyri is without a doubt a Mecca for ice cream lovers who love pure quality in perfect simplicity, no slush, just good ice cream.”
Valdís, by the old harbor in Reykjavík, came second, by a very slim margin. Third was Ísbúð Vesturbæjar in the western part of the capital.
Paradís placed fourth, located in eastern part of Reykjavík, and number five on the list was YO YO, a yoghurt ice cream parlor in Kópavogur.
