Prime Minister of Iceland Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson and President of Iceland Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson have announced that a meeting will be held at presidential residence Bessastaðir at 1 pm tomorrow, after which the new interior minister will be presented.

According to visir.is, either Speaker of Parliament Einar K. Guðfinnsson or chair of the Independence Party’s parliamentary group Ragnheiður Ríkharðsdóttir will take over the Ministry of the Interior.

The new minister will replace Hanna Birna Kristjánsdóttir, who resigned ten days ago because of so-called leak affair.

Minister of Industry and Tourism Ragnheiður Elín Árnadóttir has been responsible for the Ministry of Interior since Hanna Birna stepped down.
