All the snow which has fallen in Iceland in the past weeks have resulted in ski resorts being able to open across the country. The slopes are being prepared in Hlíðarfjall above Akureyri, North Iceland, and Bláfjöll near Reykjavík and it is hoped that they can open today.
The ski resorts Tindastóll in Skagafjörður, Northwest Iceland, and Böggvistaðafjall in Dalvík, Northeast Iceland, have already opened, ruv.is reports.
After a slight increase in temperatures in the capital today, with wind, rain or sleet, the weather is expected to be frosty tomorrow, with calm and frosty conditions to last through Christmas Eve. Christmas will likely be white in all parts of the country.
