Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson has been nominated for a BAFTA for the music he wrote to the film The Theory of Everything. This is Jóhann’s second nomination for a major award—last month he was nominated for a Golden Globe.
The acclaimed film by director James Marsh features scientist Stephen Hawking’s relationship with his wife Jane. It’s nominated in all the main categories at the BAFTAs, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Actress, ruv.is reports.
Previous Icelandic BAFTA winners are editor Valdís Óskarsdóttir for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and musician Ólafur Arnalds for his score to the television series Broadchurch.
