The Icelandic Met Office is warning of a storm due to hit the south of the country this evening.
The latest addition to an unusually stormy winter so far is expected to affect the whole south, but especially the area around Eyjafjall and Mýrdalur.
Another, separate storm is expected to hit South and West Iceland tomorrow, but that particular low will be warmer than those which have preceded it. It will bring heavy precipitation with it for the south; most likely rain.
At the time of publishing, there are icy patches on lowland roads in the south and west, total ice cover on mountain roads, as well as snow.
In West Iceland and the Westfjords there is snow on all roads, with some of it very deep, though plows are at work to clear it.
Northwest Iceland has icy conditions, while Northeast and East Iceland have largely good driving conditions this morning, with ice on mountain roads. Southeast Iceland roads are iced and have light snow.
