Spring isn’t quite here yet, judging by the recent snowfall. While some have grown tired of the snow, others are happy to hit the slopes; ski resorts will be open across the country today. Outside Reykjavík, most slopes in Bláfjöll and Skálafell will be open from 10 am to 5 pm.
In Bláfjöll, the cross country race Bláfjallagangan will take place today and skiers can register until 2 pm, mbl.is reports. The weather is frosty and calm with intermittent snowfall.
Hlíðarfjall in Akureyri, North Iceland, will be open from 10 am to 8 pm. Conditions are also frosty and calm. In Siglufjörður, also in North Iceland, conditions are similar and the local resort will be open from 10 am to 4 pm.
In Ísafjörður, the West Fjords, the slopes will be open from 10 am to 4 pm and a 3.3-km (2.1-mile) cross country track will also be prepared.
