Chair of the Left-Green Movement Katrín Jakobsdóttir said in parliament this week that she finds it regrettable that Minister of Industry Ragnheiður Elín Árnadóttir, who is responsible for tourism, had failed to sort out the mess regarding charges at tourist destinations.

Katrín stated that the situation is not at all acceptable and that it may even be in violation of the existing nature protection law, as it isn’t clear whether people can be charged for viewing natural treasures, ruv.is reports.

As today is the last day parliament is in operation before the summer recess, Katrín said it is clear that the situation will be no better when parliament reopens in the autumn than the previous year, which is not just stagnation but a step back.
