Iceland Airwaves has announced the finale to this year’s event: a “festival within a festival.”
Sunday, November 8, the five-day festival culminates in a huge extravaganza at Vodafone Hall, a press release states, featuring the crème de la crème party-starters of the Icelandic music scene, including FM Belfast and Úlfur Úlfur, alongside UK’s star bands, Hot Chip and Sleaford Mods.
The members of Hot Chip are veterans of the scene since 2000. Their latest album, Why Make Sense, has enjoyed great success. Iceland Airwaves is excited to welcome them back to the festival.
Nottingham’s Sleaford Mods is expected to bring embittered rants on life to the scene. “Their presence in the UK scene is stirring things up,” the press release states.
Extreme Chill Festival is taking over the second floor and will fill the room with the best of Icelandic electronica.
This is the lineup: Introbeats, dj flugvél og geimskip, Agent Fresco, Emmsjé Gauti, Sleaford Mods (UK), Úlfur Úlfur, Hot Chip (UK), and FM Belfast.
