Three Seriously Injured in Car Accident

Police closed part of the Ring Road after the accident on May 2, 2015

Five people are injured, three of them seriously, following an automobile accident on the Ring Road in South Iceland, east of Hjörleifshöfði, today, according to RÚV. The three were transported by the Icelandic Coast Guard helicopter to emergency care, but the other two by ambulance.

This is reported on the Facebook page of the South Iceland Police. How the accident happened is not known, but it’s under investigation by police. What is known is that the car rolled over.

The Ring Road in South Iceland has been reopened to traffic, but drivers are asked to show caution and consideration.
