An individual who broke into a house in Reykjavík district Breiðholt on Tuesday morning accidently left his sweater and parka behind. He now wants the clothes back and is threatening the family who lives there, a couple with two young sons.

The couple woke up as the burglar was emptying the apartment. He threatened the family father, Bjarni Kristinn Egilsson, with a knife, yet Bjarni managed to throw him out the door. The burglar then tossed a brick through the window of the children’s bedroom, dv.is reports.

Loot from the breaking-and-entering was found scattered around the neighbourhood, which the couple reclaimed, and they thought they would never hear back from the burglar.

But then Bjarni received a text message from the burglar, asking for his clothes, threatening to return to the apartment. Bjarni told dv.is that he is afraid to go back there and that the police have refused to assist him. The burglar appears to have a history with the police.
