The Icelandic women’s national football team beat Macedonia 4:0 in Skopje today in a preliminary game for the UEFA Women’s EURO 2017 in the Netherlands, Vísir reports.
The Icelandic team was superior throughout the game, especially during the first half when all four goals were scored.
Margrét Lára Viðarsdóttir scored the first goal nine minutes into the game. Other goals were scored by Glódís Perla Viggósdóttir and Harpa Þorsteinsdóttir. Margrét Lára then scored the team’s fourth and final goal.
The field, according to Vísir, was very wet and almost unusable. Besides, this was a practice field without as much as a clock. Skopje has seen a lot of rain lately and puddles of water were all over the field.
