A man in his forties is in police custody, suspected in the killing of a man in an apartment on Miklabraut, Reykjavík, last night, Vísir reports.
A police statement reads, “Police were notified of a serious assault in the above-mentioned building at 9:55 pm, but once they arrived at the scene a very short while later, a man, close to 60 years old, who had been the victim of the attack, was found and pronounced dead at the scene.”
Police found a sharp object at the scene, suspected to be the murder weapon.
Both the victim and the suspect resided in the building. There are no other suspects.
Investigation has just begun, and no further information has been provided by police.
