Icelandic Glaciers on Show in Paris

Icelandic-Danish artist Ólafur Elíasson’s latest work, ‘Ice Watch,’ was put on display in Paris yesterday, mbl.is reports.

The work, which is composed of 12 fragments of Icelandic glaciers, arranged in a circle, has been put up on Place du Panthéon in Paris.

The work was set up to coincide with the UN Climate Conference, currently being held in Paris. With the project, Ólafur hopes to make people aware of the warming of the earth and the melting of ice on the North and South Poles by placing something in front of them which until now has only seemed a relative idea in their minds.
