Support for the Independence Party has never been lower, according to a new MMR poll, Kjarninn reports. Support for the ruling parties continues to drop, while the Pirate Party remains the most popular one.

The poll was conducted December 18, only 11 days after the previous poll. Support for the parties changed considerably between those two polls. The Progressive Party went from enjoying a 12.9 percent support to 11.5 percent on December 18. In a similar trend, the Independence party went from 22.9 percent support to 20.6 percent, which is as low as it measured in a Gallup poll on November 30, 2008. The party’s support has never been lower than that.

Support for the government went from 35.6 percent on December 7 to 31.2 percent on December 18. The Pirate Party went from enjoying 35.5 percent of voters’ support on December 7 to 34.9 percent on December 18.
