Second Day of Decrease in Icelandic Stock Prices

Stock prices at NASDAQ OMX Iceland, the Iceland stock exchange, went down considerably today, for the second trading day in a row, RÚV reports. No stock prices went up, but the bench mark index decreased by 2.6 percent. Friday saw the sharpest fall in Icelandic stock prices in six years and a decrease in the bench mark index of 4 percent. That index has gone down by 3 percent since the beginning of the year. It stood at 1823 points when markets closed today. In the past 12 months, however, the bench mark index has increased by almost 32 percent.

The sharpest decrease since Friday morning has been in the shares of Icelandair Group. They took a dip of 7.46 percent Friday and another of 3.47 percent today. Still, their value has increased by 66 percent since a year ago.
