According to a new Gallup poll, support for the Pirate Party is down by 9 percentage points since last month, meaning that the Independence Party now enjoys as much support as the Pirates, RÚV reports.

Participants were asked what party they would vote for if there were elections today. The results were as follows: the Independence Party received 27 percent support, the Left Green Movement 18.4 percent, the Progressive Party got 10.5 percent (up from 6.9 percent two weeks ago), The Social Democratic Alliance received 8.3 percent, Bright Future 5.2 percent, and 3.5 percent of respondents said they would vote for Viðreisn, a new party in the making.

The poll was conducted April 14-28. The sample size was 2,823 and the response rate was 59.2 The margin of error is 1-2.3 percent.
