Central defender Ragnar Sigurðsson’s performance at the EURO2016 in France hasn’t escaped anyone. He is by all accounts considered the man of the game in Nice on Monday, when Iceland beat Engand 2-1. He scored Iceland’s first goal in the game and came close to scoring another one with a bicycle kick that caught attention. His performance in the Icelandic defense has been widely praised.

The Guardian reports today that Tottenham and Leicester are among several Premier League clubs interest in signing him after his impressive performance. Two German teams, Schalke and Wolfsburg, are also said to be interested.

Ragnar, who is 30 years old, is under contract with the Russian team Krasnodar until the summer of 2018. Although the German teams have shown interest in Ragnar, the Guardian states that Ragnar, “who would cost around [USD 5.55 million (EUR 5 million)] would prefer a move to the Premier League.” Liverpool and other unnamed clubs are apparently interested, too.

Ragnar left Iceland at the age of 20 after beginning his career at the local Fylkir football club. He played for IFK Gothenburg for years before joining FC Copenhagen in 2010. Krasnodar signed him in 2014.
