A nineteen-year-old boy is suspected of having raped a girl in Reykjavík last Sunday, only six days after he was arrested for another rape in Southwest Iceland, Vísir reports. The victims are 15-year-old girls, both of whom have pressed charges.
The Suðurnes Police saw no reason to place the boy in custody after the first offense took place two weeks ago.
The second case occurred in the Grafarvogur neighborhood in Reykjavík on Sunday. Fréttatíminn reports that an ambulance was called to a home where several young people had gathered.
The suspect, who had fled the apartment, was later arrested by the shore. Once the Reykjavík Metropolitan Police discovered that the boy had been arrested six days earlier, they placed him in police custody, which expires today.
The cases are still being investigated.
