Icelandic swimmer Hrafnhildur Lúthersdóttir finished 11th in 200-m breaststroke in the Olympics in Rio last night in 2:24.41 minutes and did not make it to the finals. She is now done competing at the Olympics and says she is content with her achievement.
“I’m satisfied about having competed in the finals at the Olympics,” Hrafnhildur told RÚV. She qualified for the finals in 100-m breaststroke and finished sixth. “Of course I would have wanted to qualify for the finals [in 200-m breaststroke, too]. But I think, even with my best time, I wouldn’t have made it to the finals, but finished ninth.”
Hrafnhildur has had a good year so far; she won two silver medals and one bronze at the European Championship in London in May.
