Today is Library Day in Iceland. Libraries throughout the country invite guests to visit and discover the endless opportunities available within their walls.
Reykjavík City Library in Kringlan offers a program today for children as well as adults. Children will read out loud at 4:30 pm and at 5:30 pm, the play Blái Hnötturinn (The Blue Planet), which is to be put on stage at Reykjavík City Theater this fall, will be introduced. Free, wrapped books wil be available while supplies last.
At Gerðuberg Library, poems will cover the walls and free books will be offered. At Spöngin Library, guests will be served coffee and cake while they listen to stories, plays and poems. Waffles are on the menu at Sólheimar library, while poems, coffee and cake will be offered at Árbær library.
