Dream, Worth ISK 45 Million

Money

It pays to write down your dreams. That was proven last Saturday when the winner of the Iceland Lottery brought home ISK 45 million (USD 392,000, EUR 348,000), tax-free.

Shortly before, he had stumbled upon a card on which he had jotted down his dream from many years ago, mbl.is reports. The dream was about numbers, five of them, that is. Once he found the card, he decided to apply the numbers in Saturday’s lottery, which requires a player to guess a series of five numbers. The effort paid off, because all five numbers drawn matched the ones from his dream, producing the large amount of cash.

The man and his wife were about to purchase a new home that day. Now, they may no longer need a mortgage for the home.

They are from the countryside, and once it was clear they had hit the jackpot, they decided not to spend the night with relatives, as planned, but to stay at a hotel and go out for dinner. For the first time in her life, the wife confessed she could order from the menu what she wanted without checking the price.

The lucky ones have many children and a few grandchildren as well. They would like to purchase an RV to be able to invite the grandchildren on a trip.
