A man has been arrested, suspected of an armed robbery in Akureyri, North Iceland, on Saturday. The robbery took place in the grocery store Samkaup Strax. On their Facebook page, the police had posted pictures of the suspect, taken by security cameras. Subsequently, tips were received regarding his identity.
According to RÚV, the robber threatened one of the employees with a knife and forced that person to open the cash register, from which money was stolen. Store workers were shocked, but no one was injured.
