Syrian Boy Sings Icelandic Nursery Rhyme

A young Syrian boy, who arrived in Iceland as a refugee in January, charmed visitors at the Reykjavík City Library last week by singing an Icelandic nursery rhyme in flawless Icelandic, RÚV reports.

The boy was among the many guests of an event organized by Café Lingua, a platform for those who want to enhance their language skills. It gives people a chance to communicate in different languages and introduces people in Iceland to new languages and cultures.

The theme on September 15 was focused on Syrians in Iceland, and they were invited to introduce the language and culture of Syria. The event was a collaboration with the Red Cross of Iceland and the education center Mímir.
