The Suðurnes Police expelled four members of the Swedish motorcycle gang Bad Breed MC on Friday, RÚV reports. The men were detained by police during border control at Keflavík International Airport, following which they were shown the decision of the Directorate of Immigration. Subsequently, they were escorted onto a flight to Stockholm.
The website of Bad Breed MC shows that the parent organization is in Sweden, but that an Icelandic branch was established at the end of September.
Stundin reported in September that the gang had begun operation in Iceland, with headquarters in Garðabær, near Reykjavík. According to Stundin, the gang was established in Sweden in the summer of 2014. The Icelandic division is the first outside Sweden. On September 15, RÚV quoted Runólfur Þórhallsson, deputy superintendent, as saying that police were closely monitoring their operation.
The gang has close ties to the international criminal organization Bandidos. Last year, four members of the gang were expelled as soon as they arrived at Keflavík International Airport. Stundin suggests that it may be the gang’s goal to eventually merge with Bandidos.
