Two individuals have been arrested by police, suspected of having held a man captive in a Reykjavík apartment, Vísir reports. That was confirmed by Chief Superintendent Grímur Grímsson, who stated, “What we are investigating is whether a man was held there against his will.”
The alleged victim contacted police between 1 and 2 pm yesterday. Subsequently, two men were arrested. The victim, who was held captive in a fourth floor apartment on Fellsmúli, managed to get out to the balcony and climb to another balcony on the third floor, where he was let in by a resident and placed a call to police.
An eyewitness saw one of the suspects try to flee the scene, but police caught him outside the apartment building. The victim was led to an ambulance by police officers.
Today, Vísir reports that the victim claimed he suffered abuse in the apartment for 48 hours.
Last night, the couple who live in the Fellsmúli apartment, a 26-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, were still being searched for by police.
