Due to icy conditions, a WOW Air flight to Copenhagen was delayed after a service vehicle slid into the aircraft where it was parked at Keflavík International Airport, Vísir reports. The flight was scheduled at 6:30 am, but due to the delay, departure is now set for 3:40 pm.
When residents in Southwest Iceland woke up this morning, roads were icy with a thin layer of snow. Keflavík International Airport was no exception.
The WOW airplane cannot be flown in its current condition, so another aircraft has been ordered from abroad to transport the 190 passengers to Copenhagen.
One of the passengers foreseeing a nine-hour wait in Keflavík told Vísir that every one of them was given ISK 1,500 (USD 13, EUR 12.5) from WOW Air, because of the delay.
