Police are still looking for the man who stabbed a woman in the arm the State Diagnostic and Counseling Center on Digranesvegur in Kópavogur, south of Reykjavík, Monday, RÚV reports.
At the time of the stabbing, he was wearing a so-called Scream mask, based on Edvard Munch’s painting ‘The Scream’ and similar to the mask used in the Scream horror movie.
According to the woman’s testimony, she encountered the man in the stairway of the building when she showed up for work at 9 am. The two of them did not exchange any words, but he was wearing a mask, such as the murderer’s in the movie Scream.
The man stabbed the woman in the arm, resulting in heavy bleeding, although the injuries are not severe. The man escaped, but left the mask and the knife behind at the center. No security cameras were at the location. Specimens from the mask are being analyzed, but it will be a while before results are in.
