The driver of the white car, sought by police since Friday in connection with Birna Brjánsdóttir’s disappearance, was found last night, according a press release issued by the police, RÚV reports.
On Friday, the police posted a Facebook message, asking the driver of a white car, caught on camera Saturday, January 14, at 12:24, driving along Óseyrarbraut in Hafnarfjörður, to contact them. He was believed to be an important witness. This was the day Birna Brjánsdóttir disappeared. Her body was discovered on the south coast of Reykjanes peninsula yesterday.
Chief Superintendent Grímur Grímsson stated the driver had not come forward, but had been tracked down by police, thanks to extensive research. The man was questioned, Grímur added, about certain details, for which he provided explanations, deemed to be sufficient. A police report was taken of his account.
