The French Film Festival will be held in Reykjavík January 27-February 10 and in Akureyri January 28-February 3. The festival is organized by the French Embassy and Alliance française in Reykjavík, in cooperation with Háskólabíó cinema, Institut française and the Canadian Embassy, according to a press release.
There will be 11 films featured at the festival, ten from France and one from Canada, all but one with English subtitles. The only exception is an animated children’s film, which has Icelandic subtitles.
The opening film of the festival is Paul Verhoeven’s latest film, the psychological thriller Elle, starring Isabelle Huppert.
The other films featured are Un home à la hauteur (Up for Love), La tête haute (Standing Tall), 21 nuits avec Pattie (21 Nights with Pattie), La belle saison (Summertime), Les cowboys, Ni le ciel, ni la terre (Neither Heaven nor Earth), Fatima, Vincent n’a pas d’ écailles (Vincent), Phantom boy, and the Canadian film Guibord s’en va-t-en guerre (My Internship in Canada).
A five-film pass is for sale at Háskólabíó cinema for ISK 6,160 (USD 53, EUR 49.50).
