Svala Björgvinsdóttir, Iceland’s 2017 entry to the Eurovision Song Contest, has shown her versatility by releasing a video of an unplugged version of her song, Paper.
Svala has been preparing for the competition in Los Angeles, where she lives with her husband.
Svala has not been attending the many pre-Eurovision events which take place all across Europe, simply because of the cost of traveling from the USA.
Despite this missed opportunity to make new fans, she says it has given her more time to practice and make the performance as good as it possibly can be.
Svala will be 13th on stage in the Tuesday May 9 semifinal and most bookmakers believe she will make it through to the Grand Final on Saturday May 13.
This year’s competition takes place in Ukraine, following Jamala’s victory last year with the song 1944.
