An earthquake of magnitude 3.7 occurred at Bárðarbunga volcano at 9:45 am this morning, as reported by the Icelandic Met Office. Bárðarbunga is located underneath Vantajökull, Iceland’s largest glacier. Another earthquake measuring 2.2 occurred a few minutes after the first. Both earthquakes occurred at the eastern edge of the Bárðarbunga caldera. Since then there has been little to no earthquake activity in the area.
