The 18th Iceland Airwaves music festival begins today, although a large number of off-venue concerts have already taken place in various locations.
Earlier today, musician Ásgeir Trausti, along with his father, performed at Grund retirement home for a packed crowd of elderly citizens, kindergarten children and tourists. The mood was exceptionally cosy, according to RÚV's report on the concert.
Iceland Airwaves takes place all around central Reykjavík and Akureyri, and the off-venue concerts are no exception. In fact, attendees can expect music at locations such as a boat, the City Library and a hair salon.
