The Friends of the Árni Magnússon Institute association projected their “Orð verða til,” (roughly, “We have a word for that”) installation during Reykjavík’s Winter Lights Festival this weekend, mbl.is reports. The installation featured Icelandic technological terms projected on the side of a building with their English equivalents, which are often used by Icelanders who may or may not know that Icelandic words actually do exist for these things.

Some of the projected words included:

handbók – manual
örgjörvi – microprocessor
nettengdur – online
hlaðvarp – podcast
snertiskjár – touchscreen
vefmyndavél – webcam

You can watch a video of the projection on the Árni Magnússon Institute Facebook page, here.
