Capital-area police dealt with a number of notable incidents on Thursday, including the discovery of a firearm in a stolen car and the arrest of the same individual for two separate thefts, mbl.is reports.
According to the day’s police blotter, Police apprehended two people driving a stolen vehicle in the morning, finding not only drugs in the car, but also a sawed-off shotgun.
Later in the day, they arrested an individual around 5:00 PM, when a theft was reported at a local shop. The suspect was released shortly after being questioned. Not long after, police were called again regarding a cellphone theft in a coffee shop on Laugavegur. The same suspect that they’d questioned earlier was arrested yet again when the stolen phone’s owner was able to locate its whereabouts by using its GPS tracking function.
That evening, just before 8:00 PM, there was a traffic collision in Mosfellsbær, not far outside of Reykjavík. One of the drivers immediately drove away from the scene, but was apprehended after a brief search of the area.
