Street Closures for Airwaves

To make room for the crowd attending Iceland Airwaves in Reykjavík, November 4-8, some streets downtown will be converted into pedestrian streets.

It now appears that the reason for the cancelation of Björk’s concerts scheduled for the rest of the year, including two shows at Iceland Airwaves festival, is that the renowned singer overexerted herself in the making of her latest CD, Vulnicura.

More Artists Announced for Iceland Airwaves

The latest round of artists for this year’s Iceland Airwaves were announced yesterday: Mercury Rev, SOAK, Lucy Rose, JME and Aurora, taking the lineup total to 46 acts including 31 Icelandic artists.
