More Rain and Windy Weather Ahead

The Iceland Met Office has issued a warning that mudflows may occur across roads in mountainous regions in Northwest and North Iceland in the coming days. There is also a risk of landslides in the West Fjords and on Tröllaskagi in the north due to heavy rainfall.

Hot Spring Admission Fees Started

Yesterday afternoon the organization of landowners at Reykjahlíð, an area in Mývatnssveit in the north of Iceland, began charging a fee of ISK 800 (EUR 5/USD 7) for access to the hot springs east of Námafjall. The fee will apply to Icelanders and foreign tourists alike.
