Reykjavík’s annual Pride Parade will start at 2:00 PM right by the Harpa concert hall.
Pride Week celebrations were kicked off today at noon with the painting of a rainbow on Skólavörðustígur street.
The 19th annual Reykjavík Pride kicked off yesterday when the festival president Eva María Þórarinsdóttir Lange and Mayor Dagur B. Eggertsson helped to paint a rainbow walkway leading up to the entrance of city hall.
The Reykjavík Pride Parade will take place tomorrow, Saturday, at 2 pm, starting at the BSÍ bus terminal.
Up to 40,000 people gathered in downtown Reykjavík on Saturday for the annual Reykjavík Pride parade despite gray skies and cooler weather. As in previous years, participants made their way from BSÍ bus terminal down to Arnarhóll where a concert took place.
Reykjavík Pride was officially launched on Tuesday and involves a six-day schedule of events, the highlight of which is today’s parade through central Reykjavík.
