Icelandic Red Cross Sends ISK 10 Million to Gaza

The Icelandic Red Cross announced on Monday that it would send ISK 10 million (USD 87,000, EUR 64,000) to the Palestinian Red Crescent for relief work in Gaza in light of the humanitarian crisis in the area. A phone line service for collecting donations has also been set up.

Hiker’s Friends to Establish Fund

Friends of Ásta Stefánsdóttir, the 35-year-old Icelandic lawyer who was found dead in Bleiksárgljúfur canyon, last week, have established a fund in her name.


Many Icelanders Receive Phone Scam Calls

Recently many Icelanders have been contacted by individuals calling from abroad and claiming to be working for Microsoft. They claim to be calling to warn their customers of a virus, and direct them to a website where they can download an anti-virus program.
