Are there many smokers in Iceland? How much is a pack of cigarettes there? Are the public restaurants smoke-free, or do they welcome smokers?

As is true in the rest of Europe, there are loads of smokers in Iceland. A pack of cigarettes costs roughly USD 6.70. There are some non-smoking sections in restaurants and cafés, but the bars are one big haze of tar-laden filth. Spend three minutes minutes in one and you’ll come out smelling like an ashtray with lungs that are one shade nearer to black. But this is the price you pay for going big at night in Iceland…
