Schpilkas - Reykjavík's answer to klezmer music

Listen to Schpilkas' "Di Grine Kusine" off of "So Long Sonja". The band's name means - "Ants in your pants" - which is exactly what you will feel like you have after listening to their infectious klezmer dance music.

The band is based in Reykjavík and comprised of various Nordic musicians, including clarinetist Haukur Gröndal. His sister Ragnheidur Gröndal, one of Iceland's best known pop singers, joined him and the rest of the band on this track and a couple of others on the album. "So long Sonja" is available on the 12 Tónar label.
