This Time Last Year: Reykjavík´s Women Protest for Equal Pay

On October 24, 2005, half the women of Reykjavík hit the streets to protest for higher wages. The march attracted more than 50,000 protesters, most of them women. They left their jobs and homes at 2:08 in the afternoon, 64.1 percent through the workday, since studies show they earn that fraction of an Icelandic man´s salary.
