Icelanders are famous for their excessive fireworks display on the last day of the year and last New Year’s Eve was no different.
Fireworks are sold by the local search and rescue teams who operate on a voluntary basis.
The fireworks sale is their most important source of income. Most families in Iceland buy fireworks to support a good cause and to welcome the New Year with a blast.
This video shows a glimpse of the fireworks display last New Year’s Eve in Reykjavík.
