Summer Time

Icelanders celebrated the first day of summer last Thursday with a day off. Yes, while parts of the Midwest and Appalachians in the US are at this moment shovelling snow, it’s officially summer in Iceland, and surprisingly the weather is cooperating.

The weather is gorgeous. In fact, I realized for the first time since moving into a new flat last November that if I look out my kitchen window I can see the mountains lining the Snaefellsnes peninsula.

Now that I discovered I have a view, I have to figure out what to do with all this extra daylight. EW
